ABOUT
BEAR MOUNTAIN
HOA
A few miles southeast of the heart of Evergreen, Bear Mountain summit is 1,300 feet above Evergreen Lake. Bear Mountain Vista is a neighborhood of approximately 200 homes, each property unique to itself.
We sit in the neighborhood of 8,629 feet above sea level, with views in all directions — including three of Colorado's 14ers: Mount Evans, Longs Peak, and Pikes Peak.
The location, views, and abundance of local wildlife, including a variety of raptors, deer, foxes, elk, mountain lions, and yes...bears, are just a few characteristics that set Bear Mountain Vista apart from your typical Foothills/Mountain communities.
MISSION OF THE ASSOCIATION
• Socializing
• 2 Parties
• Environment Monitoring
• Wildfire Safety
• AEDs
• CPR Training
• Member Directory
Bear Mountain HOA is a voluntary association that is primarily social in nature, although it also monitors proposed development and county actions that could impact the neighborhood.
The Association hosts two annual functions, a Summer Picnic and a Christmas Party. Both events are open to current and joining members and their families.
Beyond the social aspects, the BMHOA monitors the local environment, particularly the health of our pine forests, pest activity, and wildfire safety levels.
The BMHOA has purchased and strategically placed two AEDs (Automatic Electronic Defibrillators) for the community's use in case of emergency. And the Board periodically coordinates classes in CPR training at the Evergreen Fire and Rescue headquarters.
The HOA also provides a community membership directory for members in both printed and electronic format
Dues are $45 per year.
It's about more than "just" the parties!
Challenges through the years which board members have successfully championed and resolved include:
• Well water protection, effective fire mitigation, bringing AED units to the mountain, fight against pine
beetle and noxious weeds, and road maintenance.
• A long court battle was won to prohibit building 40 homes in our beautiful Meadow, due to a lack of
groundwater to support the plan. The judge ruled only four building permits allowed.
• Paving of Bear Mountain Vista from the intersection of Stanley Park and Bear Mountain Drive.
